Through the informal and friendly setting of Potluck Salons, SEACoast offers lively discussions of works presented by visiting scholars, not to mention generous potluck offerings from attendees. Visiting scholars will offer a brief visual presentation of their work, followed by a free-flowing discussion with attendees.

This fall, environmental historian of Southeast Asia, Professor David Biggs of UC Riverside, gave a fantastic talk about mangroves and the ways they are entangled with Vietnam’s past and present. During the salon we had a rich conversation about militarized landscapes in Vietnam and beyond.
